How to Choose A Highly Efficient A/C System Correctly

An A/C system is not just something you wake up one day, walk into a store and just purchase to take home. There is How to Choose A Highly Efficient AC System Correctlya lot you need to familiarize yourself with in advance. You also need to have a budget that can enable you meet the costs of purchase and installation.

In technical matters, there are details that you need to have in mind. To begin with, you need to know that air conditioning systems fall into two broad categories; those that have variable speed capacity modulation, and those that have two stages of capacity modulation.

Some of the key factors to consider include:

Levels of energy Consumption

There are systems that have two-stage modulating capacities, also known as two-steps capacities. This means that they operate at their optimum 100 percent on days when it is really hot. On colder days and on most nights they operate at 67 percent and at this stage they consume less energy. There are systems that can operate at an even lower capacity (20 percent) yet deliver the same level of required cooling and consume lesser energy. If you are considering choosing a two-stage modulating system, be informed that they are rated between 16 and 18 SEER.

Effectiveness in Humidity Control

Reports by Centre for Disease Control and Prevention shows that indoor environments should not contain high humidity levels. The optimum humidity level should be maintained at an all-time of 50 percent. Many people, however have to endure indoor humidity and find it a big challenge to control it. When an air conditioning system is in operation, more humidity is removed from the air because air flows over the condensing unit. Systems fixed with two-stage modulating capabilities run longer than the older modules. They are hence more effective in dehumidifying the indoor environment. In terms of energy consumption, they are also more cost efficient compared to their counterparts.

What others are saying about the system

It is always advisable to do your homework before you make a decision about buying such an expensive gadget. Customer reviews are a good way to find out the good and the bad side of the item. If you have not engaged a contractor before, it would also be a good idea to get a referral from a trustworthy source. Using your judgment, you can be able to weigh the pros and cons of the system before you commit your money.

The level of comfort

Systems that run on and off run the risk of alternating between hot and cold spots, which is not good for your health. A reliable air conditioner is one that should be able to keep the air in constant movement. This way, the air is continually cleaned, providing you with a comfortable environment throughout your space.

Two stage air conditioning systems have been proven to offer more comfort and increased improvements in energy cost-cutting. By bringing significant cost cutting advantages to the owner, the systems have been able to reduce the impact on local utility and on the owner’s wallet. This is something to make a hot summer day feel like a cool normal day!

If you don’t prepare your dough then it only adds a few minutes to your efforts or you can make it a family affair to knead the dough.

Homemade Pizza

On the subject of dough, you can buy ready-made or make your own, I have no thoughts, either way, just depends on how I feel at the time.

There are numerous toppings that you can have depending on your families likes and dislikes or what your taste buds desire at the time.

I have hundreds if not thousands of recipes, but here is one that is simple and straightforward to make.

Homemade Pizza Typical Recipe

This recipe makes two 10-inch pizzas, why make one when you can have two?

1 pound pizza dough, 1/2 cup sauce: tomato sauce or white sauce,  at least 2 cups of toppings, mushrooms, onions,  pepperoni, sausage (pre-cooked), bacon (pre-cooked), diced peppers, or any other favorite toppings.

1 to 2 cups (8 to 16 ounces) cheese, shredded or sliced: mozzarella, Monterey Jack, provolone, or any other cheese whichever is your favorite.

Some cornmeal or flour.

  • Heat the oven to 550°F or higher: Don’t be afraid to really crank the heat up to its highest setting. The high heat will help make a crunchier and more flavorful crust. Let the oven heat for at least twenty to thirty minutes before baking your pizzas. If you have a baking stone, place it in the lower-middle of your oven.

  • Divide the dough in half: One pound of dough makes two 10-inch pizzas. Slice the dough in half and cover one of the halves with an upside-down bowl or a clean kitchen towel while you prepare the first pizza.

  • Sprinkle the cornmeal or flour on your surface then roll out the dough one piece at a time, forming it into a round disc, use your hands or a rolling pin until it is around a 1/4 inch thick or so. If the dough shrinks back, let it rest for around 5 minutes and then continue.

  • Top the pizza base with a few tablespoons of your sauce into the center of the pizza, using the back of the spoon to spread it out to the edges. Pile on all of your toppings.

  • To bake the pizza; slide your pizza onto the baking stone or a baking tray. Cook for 5 minutes, then rotate the pizza. Bake for up to another 5 minutes, until the crust is golden-brown and the cheese has melted.

  • Let the pizza cool down on a cooling rack, just until you’re able to handle it. Slice it into pieces and serve.
